Moving away from Scotland just briefly, because ... it’s too much.

Genuinely incredibly moving, the power of football!

Georgia scored their first goal in a major tournament when they played against Turkey yesterday afternoon.

Bold opinions here - what’s everyone’s thoughts on this?

Former Scotland defender Alan Hutton has told Best Online Poker Sites that the absence of Billy Gilmour against Germany really muted their chances and that Steve Clarke must put him in his starting XI in their upcoming game against Switzerland.

Hutton said: “I think Billy Gilmour has to start against Switzerland. He’s got a calming influence and he’s someone who can get his foot on the ball. Against Germany, it was wave after wave of attacks and when that’s happening you end up getting tired.

“They pulled in their wing backs and became super narrow which allowed Germany to play the ball side to side – it’s a matter of time then before the players pick you off.

“Instead of the defenders just hitting a long ball to Che Adams up top and hoping he’ll hold onto it, you could hopefully try and find Billy Gilmour in the middle of the park against Switzerland who can take one or two touches and play a simple pass and then move from there.

“They need him to play on Wednesday.”

A colleague has just told me that a local Cologne radio station was playing Yes Sir I Can Boogie this morning. Which is glorious!

No word yet on whether its the Baccara version, or The Fratellis cover, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we can. It’s a crucial difference.

For those who don’t know - who I imagine is literally no one - Yes Sir I can Boogie became a bit of a Scottish football anthem after Scotland’s game against Serbia in 2020, which saw them entering a major international tournament for the first time in over 20 years.

After the game, a video went viral of the team in the dressing room singing and dancing to.... Yes Sir I Can Boogie (an in joke after the stag do of one of the players.)

And a legend was born.

That song was everywhere - and honestly, the joy fans feel when they hear it is unmatched! Big thanks to a Cologne local radio station for treating the Tartan Army with that today!

Is anyone else getting nervous?

Calm before the storm, eh? This part of the day is always nerve-wracking. If you’re en route to Cologne then safe travels, and remember you can keep on top of all the build up here.

Right! Buckle in! There are plenty of pubs, fan zones, gardens with cool projectors that your fancy neighbours installed that mean that some fans may be watching the game from an outdoor spot this evening. A bold choice. Let’s take a look at the weather across Scotland to help see if this is in anyway a good idea.

First up Edinburgh. Relatively sunny - no rain in site, Actually it looks like it might be rather nice!

Next up Glasgow.

I mean, it looks like it’s going to be so nice in Glasgow that it would be a crime NOT to go out to a fan zone, or outside viewing area to experience tonight’s game.

Look at that sunshine.

Now, Aberdeen. Really letting everyone down in the old sunshine department, but there doesn’t appear to be any rain, and honestly, that’s the main thing. Just make sure you have a medium to light coat.

And lastly, across to Fort William. Looking lovely.

Across the board, a strong weather turn out for tonight. Well done Scotland.

Maybe it’s a sign.....

There are some amazing pictures coming from Cologne of the Tartan Army gathering ahead of tonight’s game.

When the Tartan Army show up - they really show up.

Everyone looks like they’re having such an incredible time and we’re not jealous. Nope, not even a bit. We didn’t want to go actually. So why would we be insanely jealous?

The weather seems to be holding out for the fans and we’re all hoping and dreaming that the result tonight will delight fans in Germany and here at home.

Fingers crossed folks!

Here are some of the best pictures from Cologne that we’ve put in a handy article just for you.

And here are some right here too. But only some.
