Scotland’s Euro 2024 campaign came to a crushing end on Sunday night when they were defeated 1-0 by Hungary in Stuttgart.
As a result, the Scots finish bottom of Group A on one point and despite the Tartan Army being lauded for their support in Germany, the team ultimately failed in its quest to reach the knock-out stages of a major tournament for the first time.
We take a look at how each player - and head coach Steve Clarke - performed during their time in the competition.

![This was a wretched tournament for the Arsenal defender. Was unable to properly bomb forward alongside Andy Robertson down the left and spent most of his time defending. His tournament came to sad end during the second half of the Switzerland match when he damaged his hamstring. Left the camp early to get treatment back at the Gunners. 4](https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/jpim-static/2024/06/24/11/57/Kieran-Tierney.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=800)

![Appeared in all three matches - twice as a substitute - before starting against Hungary. Still without a club, the ex-Nottingham Forest man played well in Tierney's absence and can be largely satisfied with his contribution. Forced the own goal from Antonio Rudiger against the Germans. 6](https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/jpim-static/2024/06/24/11/29/Scott-McKenna.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=800)

![The right-back entered the tournament with only 155 minutes of competitive football under his belt since the start of March, given he is deputy to Alistair Johnston at Celtic. His rustiness showed at the start of the tournament as he was relentlessly targeted by the Germans and then the Swiss. His under-cooked backpass allowed Xerdan Shaqiri to net Switzerland's equaliser but it was a mark of Ralston's character that he got stronger from that moment on. Played well against Hungary and showed his mental toughness. 5](https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/jpim-static/2024/06/24/11/19/Anthony-Ralston.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=800)

![The Scotland captain played his part in the opening goal against Switzerland but enduring an ultimately frustrating Euros, spending a lot of his time defending. Had a mixed bag in terms of set-piece delivery. Often spoke well on media duties and looked devastated as he delivered the apology to a nation live on TV straight after the Hungary loss. 6](https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/jpim-static/2024/06/24/11/53/Andy-Robertson.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=800)
