Scotland’s Euro 2024 campaign came to a crushing end on Sunday night when they were defeated 1-0 by Hungary in Stuttgart.
As a result, the Scots finish bottom of Group A on one point and despite the Tartan Army being lauded for their support in Germany, the team ultimately failed in its quest to reach the knock-out stages of a major tournament for the first time.

![The Southampton striker started every match but had such a limited output. While he was starved off any meaningful service, the few attempts he had on goal never troubled the goalkeepers. He will no doubt be very frustrated with how it all panned out for him. 4](https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/jpim-static/2024/06/24/11/23/Che-Adams.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=800)

![The head coach targeted four points from Group A but left with one. Always deployed his team cautiously and did well to restore belief and shape against Switzerland after the 5-1 thumping by Germany. He was ultimately unable to find a way to crack a Hungarian team that had shown defensive frailties in their previous two matches and such rigidity towards his starting XI and tactics are beginning to wear thin with certain supporters. Was not happy with a referee from Argentina taking charge of the last match and made an uncharacteristic outburst over that. Does not leave Germany with his reputation enhanced. 4](https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/jpim-static/2024/06/24/11/01/Steve-Clarke.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=800)
