Tennis players are amongst the wealthiest sports people on the planet, with a single Grand Slam title earning you well in excess of £2 million - and there are four of them every year, before you even start on the still-lucrative smaller tournaments.

6. Caroline Wozniacki
Also worth around $60 million is Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki. She became the first Scandinavian player to top the world rankings in 2010 and held the number one spot for 71 weeks. Representing both Yugoslavia and the USA during her career, Monica Seles won nine major singles titles - eight of them as a teenager. Her first Grand Slam title came at the age of just 16 at the French Open in 1990. The victim of an on-court knife attack by a crazed fan of Steffi Graf in 1993, she withdrew from tennis for over two years and, while she continued to win tournamnets on her eventual return to the sport, she never reached the heights previously scaled.
