Dons ace 'to leave'

The future of forward Duk at Aberdeen has been thrown into doubt after his agent Carlos Oliveira said that the Cape Verdian will 'have to leave this summer'. The 24-year-old was not a regular last season and his representative stated: "This January, despite being a bad season, it wasn't Duk's fault. Who scores 18 goals playing in his position up front, then this season they put him on the wings? He'll have to leave this summer. Duk will have one more year on his contract and in January 2025 he can sign as a free player. We don't want to do that, we're grateful to Aberdeen but they'll have to be flexible. It wasn't just Young Boys (who were interested earlier this year). Several teams wanted Duk but Aberdeen rejected everything."

Hearts excited by new signing

Steven Naismith believes Hearts can take James Penrice’s game to a new level after the left-back was confirmed as the club’s first new signing of the summer. The defender has agreed a three-year contract and will provide competition and cover for Stephen Kingsley and Alex Cochrane “We’re delighted to get James signed up,” manager Naismith told Hearts’ website. “He’s someone who knows the domestic game well and has had to work really hard to get to where he is today. James has bags of talent, he’s got a great engine and he’s going to provide us with options. He’ll be an asset for us and he’s at a great age where there’s even more to come. We can develop him further and help him to reach new levels.”

Keeper extends at Killie

Goalkeeper Kieran O’Hara has become the latest player to sign a new contract with Kilmarnock for next season. The 28-year-old, who has two caps for the Republic of Ireland, moved to Rugby Park last summer following his departure from Colchester. Despite operating as understudy to on-loan Bournemouth keeper Will Dennis and being restricted to just four appearances last term, O’Hara has agreed to remain with the Ayrshire club. O’Hara, Innes Cameron, Liam Polworth and Gary Mackay-Steven were all due to be out of contract this summer but have now pledged themselves to Killie on new deals, while it was confirmed earlier this month that Stuart Findlay is returning on another season-long loan from Oxford.
