Fancy dinner on the house? That sounds like a good deal too good to pass up – but it’s even better when you hear which restaurant is offering it.

The award-winning Murrayshall Country Estate in Scone is a luxury boutique hotel in Perthshire and if you join them for an overnight stay before the end of September, you’ll be able to enjoy a first-class two-course dinner for two in the hotel’s award-winning Eòlas restaurant on a complimentary basis.

Shortlisted for Scotland’s Best Restaurant in The Scotsman this year, this refined dining experience showcases the very best of Highland produce. Eòlas – pronounced “Olass” – aims to offer the very best  Scottish cooking, and specialises in quality, seasonal food sourced from local producers.

The restaurant also affords diners stunning views of the Perthshire landscape. Murrayshall is set in the heart of 365 acres of Perthshire countryside, a four-star retreat nestled between towering trees. Neverthess, it is handily located just a 15-minute drive from Perth racecourse, which lies just north of Scone and all its amenities.

The house was built in the 17th Century for the Graham-Murray family, whose descendants now live at Scone Palace. Murrayshall was also formerly the home of Lord Lynedoch, and was revamped in both the 18th and 19th centuries. The construction was turned into a hotel in the 1970s, and now features 40 elegant rooms and suites.

Aside from the nearby horse racing, the hotel’s grounds are home to an impressive golf course and also offers an ideal environment in which to unwind.

At Murrayshall Estate, you can take long, leisurely walks through the gardens or get the adrenaline going a little more with a spot of paddle boarding. There’s also an extensive “pursuits” programme on offer throughout the summer where the more adventurous can get out and about to try their hand at archery, quad biking or even axe throwing.

You can even take a picnic hamper on your journey around the grounds and beyond, as Murrayshall’s talented chefs now offer luxury bespoke picnic provisions for you to take on your travels, each one in its own stylish backpack.

The hotel also offers a selection of spa treatments utilising luxury Scottish organic products. Two treatment rooms in the newly refurbished Gate Lodge offer facials and a blend of holistic therapies including reiki, massage and aromatherapy.
