Art rarities from ‘fifth Scots Colourist’ go under hammer
The six works by John McLaughlin Milne, part of a private collection, were sold by Lindsay Burns and Co. in Perth.
The most highly valued picture was an oil painting of the Port of St Tropez, which eventually fetched £36,800.

Hide AdPink Roses, the only still life in the collection, went for £22,800, alongside views of the Isle of Arran and other scenes, which fetched a total of £106,800.
Auctioneer Nick Burns said yesterday that the pictures had been bought by the seller’s family in the early 20th century. He said: “We were excited to get the chance to sell them.”
Milne, 1885-1957, was raised in Edinburgh.
