Golf: Vanmol marks her maiden visit to Scotland with classy performance at Gullane
Vanmol was one down after four holes but won the next two. Boutier won the eight to draw level again, but the 17-year-old Belgian decisively claimed the 14th in par and the long 15th with a birdie four. Two up with three to play, she lost the short 16th but held on for victory. Vanmol follows in the footsteps of compatriot, Laura Gonzalez-Escallon, won the title at British Girls' title at Monifieth three years ago.
"It is great to win this title and it is the best win of my career," said the new champion. "But I knew I was in good form because I won the Belgian National Matchplay Championship just two weeks ago."
