FOOD AND DRINK: A TASTE OF BOND
James Bond, the epitome of class and sophistication, tends to mingle in fancy places. But the spy’s lifestyle isn’t entirely inaccessible. The Balmoral Hotel is offering the chance to sip 007’s favourite champagne, Bollinger Special Cuvée, accompanied by delicious tuxedo-dressed chocolate strawberries. Held in the luxurious surrounds of the hotel’s Palm Court, the drinks are eye-popping for their price as much as their presentation – £18 a glass, and £110 a bottle – but, unless you’ve got a rocket-launching Aston Martin, it’s the closest you’ll get to being in Bond’s shoes.
MUSIC: LONELY THE BRAVE

In association with the Aberdeen Chamber Music Concerts, Krysia Osostowicz and Daniel Tong invited ten composers to write a short companion piece, inspired by one of Beethoven’s violin sonatas.
The pieces are each around five minutes long, and will be heard together with the original pieces. The concerts will be played in a series of five over six days, with the first taking place tonight.
The composers and their pairing will be Peter Ash: A Major Chase and Beethoven Violin Sonata no 2 in A major, op. 12 no. 2; Judith Bingham: The Neglected Child and Beethoven Violin Sonata no. 4 in A minor, op. 23; and David Matthews: Sonatina and Beethoven Violin Sonata no. 10 in G major op. 96.

Two singer-songwriters from opposite parts of the world have teamed up to embark on a UK tour. American Rebecca Loebe from Virginia, and Kat Healy, an Edinburgh native, will perform tonight, with their heartfelt and soulful songs.
In 2011, Ms Loebe was on American singing competition The Voice, competing as part of “Team Adam”.
Ms Healy has released two EPs; Be Still Gentle Kind in 2012 and When You Are Gone in 2014.
