Police are investigating an unexplained death after the body of a 48-year-old man was found on a street in Airdre near a war memorial earlier this morning.
The grim discovery was made around 8.15am today in Mulvey Crescent in Airdrie, and the death is being treated as unexplained.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 8.15am, the body of a 48-year-old man was found near the war memorial on Mulvey Crescent in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire.
“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause.”
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
