Fresh dough for Dunbar
Scotland’s first community-owned bakery will open for business in Dunbar at the start of next month.
Volunteers have launched a not-for-profit shop which offers training in traditional baking.
Hundreds have bought into the scheme, with proceeds from over-the-counter sales being be ploughed back into bakery. Shareholders receive a 10 percent discounton goods in lieu of a dividend.
Jane Wood, the chair of the bakery’s management committee, said: “Our market research shows there is strong demand in Dunbar for bread baked on the premises.”
