Yet as Annie Siddons takes the stage to tell the story of Raymondo, she’s also weaving a completely original 21st-century tale of inspiration, exploitation, love and death.

There can be few better reasons to create a show than winning an award to impress Superman. That, at least, is the expressed conceit of Bec Hill’s typically exuberant, daft and inventive new hour, to which she’s bolted a freshly found storytelling rigour.
