Well’s Daley delivers on goal promise
Daley replaced Chris Humphrey in the starting line-up as McCall changed his tactics to play the Jamaican up front alongside Michael Higdon, with Jamie Murphy just behind.
Although Motherwell generally struggled to find their normal attacking fluency, the tactic to utilise Daley’s pace paid off handsomely in the 53rd minute. Higdon headed on a goal kick and Murphy instantly helped the ball over the top of the Dons defence for Daley to run onto. The former Bradford winger checked back onto his right foot with the home defence backing off and shot into the bottom corner.

Daley’s winner came after Higdon’s glancing header in the fifth minute had been cancelled out just five minutes later by a Scott Vernon header.
