Woman is charged over bogus calls
The 22-year-old woman is set to appear in court at a later date. Between August 2011 and February this year, the elderly man was visited four times at his home in Meadowfield Drive, Duddingston, and extorted of cash after being told he owed money.
Detective Chief Inspector Sara Buchanan, who leads Operation Aristotle, an ongoing campaign to tackle bogus caller crime in Edinburgh, said: “Over six months, the elderly victim was extorted of his money, which he was led to believe he owed.
