Woman hurt in flat blaze
A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a flat in the Capital yesterday afternoon.
The blaze started in the kitchen of a first-floor flat on Wisp Green at around 1pm.
The 34-year-old woman, who was suffering from smoke inhalation and shock, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to the Royal Infirmary by ambulance.
A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said: "The kitchen was well alight on our arrival. Two appliances from Newcraighall and Musselburgh attended."
