Waste of my cash
I would ask Fergus Reid of TV Licensing (Letters, 6 August) why I, and many other thousands, who for some years have not watched or listened to any BBC programmes are compelled under threat of severe penalties to pay a licence fee, which in effect pays for all, or most, of BBC's output.
In other words, why should I and others in my situation pay for something from which we derive no benefit or advantage. Being a pensioner in receipt of pension credit, I can assure Mr Reid that my monthly payment of 12.12 for my TV licence could be better spent in keeping me warm or buying more food, etc.
