At no point did I assert that Carolyn Taylor had said that men were more prone to criticise than women. Also, I would have thought that her point – that the right to criticise politicians is not related to gender – was somewhat obvious.
What I took exception to, set in the context of her earlier comments about the differences between women and men, was the unpleasant tone with which she criticised Alex Salmond.

Hide AdHowever, in fairness to Carolyn Taylor, her letter yesterday does admit that her choice of words could have been better. The use of the word “enticements” was inappropriate, to put it mildly.
