Sheen was nominated for best actor in a mini-series or TV movie for The Special Relationship, a film in which he played Tony Blair. But he lost out to Al Pacino, who won for You Don't Know Jack.
Hugh Laurie also missed out yet again. He has been nominated for his role as doctor Gregory House in the eponymous show five times. But Bryan Cranston took the title of outstanding actor in a drama for his performance in Breaking Bad.
