Man hid 35,000 cigarettes and 100kg of tobacco in laundry bags down M74 embankment after crash with lorry
Factory worker Ayub Said was caught following the collision on the M74 near Abington, South Lanarkshire, in September 2018.
As police and paramedics travelled to the scene, Said climbed out of the driver’s side window and carried laundry bags and cardboard boxes from his car down the motorway embankment.
