City homeless project is put up for award
Edinburgh Cyrenians has been shortlisted in the Public Sector Partnership category for helping people in danger of losing their home avoid having to move into temporary accommodation.
This can include helping with debt issues, problems with landlords or mortgage providers and aiding those people with health issues.

Hide AdSince the service was set up in April 2009 it has helped more than 800 people and only one per cent have gone on to present themselves to the authorities as homeless.
Director Des Ryan said: “It shows that the service is being given recognition on a national level for its pioneering way of helping prevent homelessness in Edinburgh and keeping people in their homes.”
