Call to revive train station
The Capital Rail Action Group (Crag) is calling on candidates to support its proposal to open a station at Abbeyhill.
The plan was looked at in the late 1990s but rejected due to problems with signalling, braking distances and sloping land.

Hide AdLawrence Marshall, chair of Crag, said: "This new station would be well placed to serve the Scottish Parliament, while providing cross-city rail services for this densely populated area of Edinburgh."
The group, which is holding an election hustings tonight, also pledged support for the tram project and again called for the reopening of the South Suburban Railway.
