Half of homes sold for £1m were in city
In total, 61 Edinburgh properties went for a seven-figure sum – accounting for 46 per cent of million-pound sales in Scotland.
Across the country, there were 132 property sales worth at least £1m in 2011, a fall of 11 per cent from 148 in 2010.

Hide AdThis was the lowest number of sales since 2009 and more than double the percentage decline in the UK as a whole.
There are now an estimated 3001 homes in Scotland worth seven figures.
Over the past year, Edinburgh was the only Scottish cities to see a fall in million-pound sales. Aberdeenshire and East Renfrewshire were among the other Scottish areas to experience a decrease in sales.
