A total of five per cent of schools in Scotland have too many pupils for their size, meaning social distancing could prove to be even more of a challenge for teachers and students at these schools as the Scottish government announces plans to reopen them in August. While there are more over capacity secondary schools (6.5 per cent of all secondary) than primary schools (5.1 per cent of all primary), this list features 13 primary schools and two secondary schools. The data is sourced from the Scottish Government Table 8: School Estates 2019 - full school level dataset.
