Ashes give Glory Days its biggest travel contract
The Edinburgh-based firm has just completed the ground handling for Cricket Australia Travel Office, in which it booked more than 15,000 room nights for supporters of the Baggy Greens.
In addition, Glory Days organised nearly 2,000 coach and car transfers, dozens of group meals and five major functions catering for between 400 and 850 people.

Hide AdManaging director David Hardy, who set up Glory Days in 2001, said the value of the contract equalled the company’s usual annual turnover. In addition to organising outgoing packages for UK-based fans of cricket, football, Formula 1 and rugby, the firm also puts together itineraries for visiting groups to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
“We have done things of this sort before, but nowhere near this size,” Hardy said. “It has usually been dealing with hundreds of people, rather than thousands.
“We have been comfortable with it. The next time the Ashes comes across is in 2015, and we would be hoping to do that, but in the meantime we would be looking to secure other major event management contracts.”
