Celtic’s celebrated their third consecutive Scottish Premiership title win with a 3-2 win over St Mirren at the weekend and could make it a domestic double if they can overcome Rangers in the Scottish Cup final this coming weekend.
Strikes from Matt O’Riley, Kyogo and Luis Palma cancelled out Mark O’Hara’s first half double for the Paisley side and allowed Hoops fans to celebrate long into the night after finishing eight points clear at the top of the table.
However, for some, this weekend’s Scottish Cup final could be their last, with a number of Celtic stars potentially making a summer move away from the east end of Glasgow.
Here is every Celtic player who could leave for pastures new at the end of the current campaign.
1. Joe Hart - Retiring
The ex-England goalkeeper will hope to end his playing career on a high by winning the domestic double with the Hoops. The 37-year-old has already confirmed his retirement this summer, meaning Celtic will require a new number one next season. Photo: Ian MacNicol
2. James McCarthy - Departure
He has one year left on his Celtic contract but could see his time at the club cut short. Has not featured at all this season and will need to regain full fitness by playing more regularly, which feels unlikely with the Hoops. Photo: Getty Images
3. Paulo Bernardo - End of loan
Scored a memorable goal in the 2-1 victory over Rangers but hasn't been able to nail down a starting spot in the Celtic side. Has a reported £6million buyout clause inserted into his loan deal, meaning the Hoops could yet make his deal permanent. Unless that clause is activated though, he will return to Benfica soon. 4. Mikey Johnston - Departure
Johnston has flourished on loan West Bromwich Albion but has always been on the fringes at Celtic Park. The Baggies saw their EFL Championship promotion hopes ended after being defeated 3-1 by Southampton last week but they could look to secure him permanently this summer after his outstanding loan stint.
